DRIVERS are being warned to expect "very slow traffic" due to a van fire on the A23 London Road.
The road is partially blocked at Pyecombe as a result of the incident which happened at about 6pm.
In a statement, an AA spokesman told drivers there is heavy disruption in the area.
He said: "The road is partially blocked, with very slow traffic and delays of about 15 minutes due to a van fire on the A23 London Road southbound before the A273.
"There is congestion stretching to Albourne Junction, affecting traffic heading towards Brighton."
Update
The road was reportedly cleared and traffic had returned to normal by 7pm.
