A YOUNG dolphin was found dead on the seafront earlier this week.
The body of a juvenile common dolphin was found on Lancing beach on Thursday morning.
The stranding was attended by the Cetacean Strandings Investigations Programme, which looks into dolphin deaths across the country.
Project manager Rob Deaville said the body was transported to the Zoological Society of London yesterday where it will be dissected.
The dolphin found in Lancing was the latest in a number of strandings across Sussex in recent months.
Earlier this month a decomposing dolphin washed up on Kemp Town beach before it floated back into the sea.
In October last year beachgoers in Shoreham helped a stranded baby dolphin back to sea.
