Road closed after large sinkhole opens up
POLICE have closed a road after a large sinkhole appeared.
The crater is in the middle of Sandy Lane in Crawley Down, Crawley.
It appeared at about 2pm.
A Crawley Police spokesman said: "Sandy Lane in Crawley Down is currently closed at the junction with Cuttinglye Lane and Vicarage Road due to a large sinkhole which has appeared.
"Highways are aware and en route.
"Please seek an alternative route."
