THE FULL list of all the candidates standing for election in every constituency in Sussex has been revealed.

Across the country a record numbers of women look set to stand for Parliament next month, making up about a third of the candidates. Analysis of everyone standing across the country found 1,120 women out of 3,322 registered candidates.

In Sussex 29 women are asking for the public to vote for them as they run against 47 men.

Seven women are standing in Brighton and Hove’s three constituencies - alongside 12 men.

Only Crawley had no female candidates running - and Wealden - where Nus Ghani was voted in at the last election - has the highest proportion of female candidates with three running against just one man.

Across the country the Conservatives and Labour are set to field candidates in every constituency in Britain, except Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle’s seat in Chorley in Lancashire.

In Sussex Liberal Democrat candidates are also running in every constituency - and the Green party is only not fielding candidates in Eastbourne and Hastings and Rye.

Only two of the county’s previous set of MPs will not be running for re-election - Sir Nicholas Soames and Amber Rudd, who were both kicked out of the party for voting against Boris Johnson.

The Brexit Party has put forward 275 candidates, having stood aside in all the seats won by the Tories in 2017.

In Sussex, they have four candidates running in each of the Brighton and Hove constituencies and Eastbourne.

The candidates running in Brighton Kemptown are Lloyd Russell-Moyle (Lab Co-op), Joe Miller (C),

Ben Thomas (LD), Graham Cushway (Brexit) and Brighton Mayor Alexandra Phillips (Green).
