FIRE crews were called to a seafront hotel to tackle a blaze.
Two fire engines were sent to The Old Ship Hotel in King’s Road, Brighton, this morning.
A fire had started inside the hotel, which has been owned by the Cairn Group since 2016 following a £75 million property deal.
It is listed as Brighton’s oldest hotel, dating back to 1559 at the site.
The fire service was called at 6.40am, and arrived shortly afterwards. Firefighters then tackled a small fire at the hotel. The service said crews were able to leave the scene just after 7am today.
