Firefighters were called to a car fire last night.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service tackled the blaze in Ashurst Road, Moulsecoomb, at about 9pm.
A black Renault Clio was in flames.
It is not yet known if the fire was started deliberately.
An East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "We attended a car fire at 8.59pm in Moulsecoomb.
"Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to put out the flames.
"The matter is now handed over to police."
