SUSSEX Police are gearing up for Pride and their rainbow-coloured car is now patrolling the streets of Brighton ahead of the big event.
The multi-coloured Ford Focus was at Worthing Pride last weekend and will be at Trans Pride in Brighton from today.
The operational vehicle is being used for routine police work ahead of the main event in August and will also be part of the police display during processions. The design cost £350.
Brighton Pride draws crowds of 300,000 and last year 27 arrests were made.
Sussex Police said: “It is an opportunity to share positive messages about the important work we do throughout the year to ensure our workforce is inclusive and diverse, reflecting the communities of Sussex.
“We hope to show that we are a supportive and open-minded organisation who the people of Sussex can trust and have confidence in.”
