Officers flew the flag for Britain when they marched at a gay pride event in Paris.
The officers were joined by others from across the world in the French capital, where they were addressed by District Mayor Ariel Weil.
It was part of an initiative for officers to learn about hate crimes and how to deal with them. Among the Sussex officers to attend was PC Rachael Younger.
On Twitter the force posted: “It’s so important that we continue to take part in pride events to show diversity across the police service and solidarity across Europe between LGBTQI police officers.”
They also attended the Ceremony of the Revival of the Flame of the Nation at the Arc de Triomphe, where they laid a wreath commemorating LGBT people who fought during the Second World War.
