TWO cyclists needed hospital treatment after a police car answering a 999 call knocked them off their bike on Friday.
They suffered minor injuries after the crash in Queens Road, Brighton, at 5.48pm.
A 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
They were discharged later that evening after treatment.
The driver of the police Ford Mondeo was uninjured.
The unit was answering an emergency call at the time, using blue lights and sirens.
Part of Queens Road was closed while the incident was dealt with and was reopened shortly before 8pm.

The bicycle was not a tandem.
The matter has been advised to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
