IT DOES not get more 21st century than this.
A meatless “raw” burger is coming to Brighton this Friday – the first city in the country outside of London to sell the eyebrow-raising dish.
It will be served at Lucky Beach Cafe in King’s Road Arches and its sister venue, Temple Bar, in Western Road, from this Friday.
The food is described as a “bite into the future” by its designers, who add that it “sizzles, smells, tastes and bleeds like meat” but is completely plant-based.
It is made up of coconut oil, mushroom, beetroot, pea protein, soy protein and more, and is 100 per cent vegan.
Moving Mountains, a vegan food company based around cruelty-free products, created the patty, which is packed with protein and other nutrients. It also has 100 per cent of your daily vitamin B12 intake. Bosses worked with scientists and farmers to come up with the recipe across two years.
