A WOMAN’S body has been found near the highest chalk sea cliff in the country.
The body of the woman was found at Beachy Head on Saturday evening after a search operation was launched by Eastbourne RNLI and the Coastguard.
A woman had been reported missing earlier in the afternoon.
Eastbourne’s lifeboat was launched at about 3pm, as well as a Coastguard helicopter to help with the search.
Her body was found later in the evening by members of the search team.
The coroner’s office has since been informed about her death.
