A YOUNG man has died on Brighton seafront.
His body was found underneath an archway in Madeira Drive this morning, and police were called at 8.50am.
The man, thought to be 21, is believed to have been living under the arches.
Alex Moore was walking her dog near Black Rock at about 10.30am today.
She said: "The area was cordoned off when I was walking past.
"I was told by a young homeless lad called Scott that the man who died was 21.
"Scott said he tried to give the man CPR but he was already dead. He was totally shocked - I really felt for him."
Ms Moore said she saw police at the scene and the coroner's officer taking away the body.
She added: "I was shocked and worried it might be someone I know."
She feels the city is facing a big problem with homelessness and says something "needs to be done" to better support the rough sleepers in Brighton and Hove.
A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: "Police attended the arches on Madeira Drive following ambulance attending to an unresponsive male.
"Unfortunately the male was found deceased."
She added that the man's death is not being treated as suspicious.
