FIREFIGHTERS are battling a blaze on a school bus.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called at 8.18am this morning to Vowels Lane, West Hoathly, near East Grinstead, after reports of a coach on fire.
Two fire engines and a Land Rover attended the scene.
The coach had been carrying 25 pupils to Imberhorne School in East Grinstead, but all escaped unharmed.
Students smelt burning and alerted the driver, before the coach was evacuated and they were moved to a place of safety. A short time after fire took hold of the coach.
Headteacher Martin Brown said: "I'm sure it was alarming for the students, and we are mindful of that and keeping a close eye on students to make sure they don't become upset by the experience."
