An Old Bailey jury was sent out today for a second day of deliberations in the retrial of a man accused of murdering a special needs teacher.
Musician Graham Coutts was alleged by the prosecution to have strangled Jane Longhurst, 31, to satisfy a "perverted sexual interest" in violence towards women.
The body of Miss Longhurst, who was originally from Reading, Berkshire, was put into storage and then taken to a secluded spot and set alight.
Coutts, 39, of Waterloo Street, Hove, East Sussex, denies murder, claiming her death was an accident during consensual sex which involved him restricting her breathing with a pair of tights.
Judge Richard Hone told jurors they could consider a verdict of manslaughter if they found Coutts not guilty of murder.
