THREE people were injured in a two-car crash and rushed to hospital.
The accident happened in Barcombe Mills Road, Barcombe, just after 5.30pm yesterday.
Fire crews from Hailsham and Uckfield responded and had to cut free one person trapped in each vehicle. In one case they had to take the roof off one car. A third person involved was described as "walking wounded".
Two ambulances and a helicopter were also sent to the scene.
An ambulance spokesman said: "Three patients were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
"One was a woman in her 70s with chest and rib injuries. She was taken in as a priority but fully concious.
"The second patient, a driver, aged in his 30s, was complaining of neck, back and abdomen pain, and taken as a priority.
"The third patient was walking wounded."
