Two people have been rescued from a boat which burst into flames.
The Coastguard were alerted at around 12.45pm to the fire one mile off Eastbourne.
The Eastbourne all-weather RNLI lifeboat was launched to assist in the rescue.
The two people on board the burning boat were taken to safety by another boat called Jumbo.
They have been checked over by paramedics.
Explosions to gas canisters on board the fire-hit boat have caused it to sink.
Other vessels are being advised to avoid the area.
