EVER fancied featuring in a music video? If so now is your chance as the band Tenderhooks is appealing for extras.
The five-piece band, who describe themselves as “Madness meets Ray Charles impersonating Ian Dury”, are filming a video for the latest single Brighton is Falling tomorrow (THURSDAY).
They will be taking over the Prince Albert in Trafalgar Street, Brighton, and want extras to come along to feature in the video’s climactic crowd scene.
Lead singer Markus Leinweber said they want “a big fun Brighton-esque” crowd to feature in the video directed by BAFTA nominated local filmmaker Robbie McCallum.
Some of the extras will be asked to take tumbles on to crash mats - which will be filmed then played in reverse for the finished product.
He said: “The director has lots of ideas and there is going to be loads of stuff going on.
“The video starts with me coming down from Brighton Station and I bump into various people.
“When I get into the pub the landlord wants me to pay my tab, then the wife comes round the corner and gives me a slap.
“The days gets as bad as it can be until I come up the stairs and there are heaps of people waiting, the music starts, and I get up and play.”
Tenderhooks originally started out as a concept band performed by animated characters and Mr Leinweber created three animations to go along with songs.
They have released three albums since 2005, Devil Rides White Horses, Eco Warrior, and a self-titled record.
Markus said this is their first music video with the current line-up and he hopes it will be the first of many.
He said they have had the same people in the band for around two years and they “gig mainly in Brighton” at venues such as the Latest Music Bar and the Prince Albert around once a month.
Markus is also a regular face on the city’s open mic scene.
Anyone who want to take part in the shoot should meet at The Prince Albert from 11am on Thursday with the shoot expected to last until 4.30pm.
