Lewes Road closed due to ongoing police incident
The A270 Lewes Road has been reopened after a man was detained for his own safety.
Police were called just after 6pm to Lewes Road at Melbourne Street, just south of Vogue Gyratory.
There were fears for a man seen standing towards the top of a multi-storey building.
A spokesman for Sussex Police confirmed he has now been detained for his own safety, and the road reopened shortly after 9pm.
Separately, the BP garage at Vogue Gyratory is still cordoned off after a gas leak this morning.
