Firefighters are tackling a hay fire – more than 12 hours after the initial call.
More than 200 tons of hay are thought be have been destroyed in the blaze at a farm off Hammerwood Road, Ashurst Wood.
Fire crews were first called at 6:50 on Wednesday evening.
Crews from across the county have been rotating shifts to try and contain the fire since.
At the height of the blaze five crews were on the scene trying to damp down the fire.
At present three engines, from Newhaven and Heathfield, are at the fire.
An investigation is to be launched to establish the cause of the blaze.
There are no reports of injuries.
