A fire has left two homes in a historic block of flats uninhabitable.
Scores of residents were evacuated from the modernist Embassy Court block of flats after a fire broke out in a third floor flat.
Six fire crews from Preston Circus, Hove, Roedean and Shoreham as well as a specialist aerial ladder team were called to the blaze at the flats in Kings Road in Brighton at 8pm.
Firefighters remained at the scene until 2am this morning and return to reinspect the property at 3.30am.
All resident have now returned to their flats except for two including the fire damaged property and a flat below which suffered flooding.
A fire investigation is underway although at the moment it has not considered to have been started deliberately.
