Elderly Lancing cyclist dies after crashing into parked van
An 86-year-old cyclist died after crashing into a parked van on Monday (August 5).
Donald Spooner, of Brookway, Lancing, was riding his electrically powered pedal cycle when he crashed into the vehicle on Freshbrook Road near his home at around 3.45pm.
He was taken by air ambulance to the Royal London Hospital with a critical head injury, but sadly died later that night.
His next of kin have been informed.
