Albion boss backs Leeds
Micky Adams has two good reasons to hope Leeds United get to Wembley tonight.
The Albion manager would like to see his old club climb back towards what many consider their rightful place in the top flight.
But he would also be happy to see them eliminated from the push for League One honours next season, when they would be free of the points deduction which hindered them this time.
Leeds go to Carlisle for the second leg of their play-off semi-final looking to pull back a 2-1 deficit.
Adams said: "For Leeds United to be in this division is criminal. I played there in better times and I'll be looking for their results.
"With the spending power they have, in an ideal world they would go up to the next division."

Micky is right. There fans are second to none, they love that club and should have better. At the end of the day there fans did nothing wrong.Anyway it helps the Albion if Leeds go up,then we only have Leicester to deal with.Go on you Leeds.

Just remember its not the Club, but the Chairman who was at fault so the Club itself should not have to pay any penalty, only the guys running the club. God forbid if the same thing happens to your club Georgie Worst. Shoe will be on the other foot then! MOT

Oh dear, Adams talking tripe already. Leeds broke the rules and have been punished for it. What's criminal is that he is manager of a club he clearly feels are inferior. If he lives up to expectations no doubt he'll want to be their next manager. If he fails as he has done everywhere he's been since 'bettering' himself we'll be the losers.

I'll give you a clue: Leicester, Premiership, promoted to. Re-arrange for the answer.
Moron.

The club are owned by shareholders and they appoint the board so they are all culpable. Yes, the fans suffer but I don't recall any of you complaining when you were in the semi-final of the champions league. I think the phrase is 'Rough with the smooth'!

When are we going to get some real news about the Albion on here? At this rate the Micky series will probably include hisfavourite foods, the music he likes, what he thinks about the 10 percent tax rate, who he is supporting as Nancy on "I'd do anything" .....

The fact that Leeds are in this division IS all wrong. They should have been expelled.
"With the spending power they have, in an ideal world they would go up to the next division." - and how can it be right that they still have that spending power after failing to pay their debts in full?
Whatever the views of Knight and the Board's recent management of the Club, they have paid their way and not hidden behind insolvency laws. For that we should applaud them!

I hope Carlisle go up for a number of reasons 1)We never get anything at carlisle 2) it will reduce Brighton fans carbon footprints if Carlisle are promoted 3)Leeds fans seem to think they have a go given right to be in the Championship 4)Leeds certainly add spice to this division and to lose them as well as Forest would make this division duller next season 5)upsetting 30000 Leeds fans should not be sniffed at. I think it is time to put Leeds misdemeanours behind them but another season in league 2 would do them no harm at all. P.S we don't want to hear about how much you love Leeds its like talking about how great your ex girlfriend is to the Mrs.

I've never said we didn't deserve to be in League 1. We were awful last season and deserved to go down. Yes Bates is a crook and he does bend the rules and unfortunately it has backfired this season as purely on playing terms we were the 2nd team in the league. But c'est la vie ... if we don't go up at least we can look forward to outplaying you at Withdean next season like we did in Oct :-)

Enough with these pointless stories on Adams and nothing in particular. We have Four Sussex teams in the top 5 divisions now. Time to spread the love I think, Argus.

Maybe the four teams should merge and play at Boradfield ... then you'd get a full house every week ... how about Sussex County Seagulls AFC ?

It is always a source of amazement when there is talk of clubs 'deserving' to be in a higher division etc etc..
Clubs are virtually always where they deserve to be. Financial profligacy (as in Leeds case), a poor team, poor management (of club and team) contribute.
By the same token, whichever of Bristol City or Hull City makes the Premiership, they, too, deserve to be there.
It should not be forgotten that Leeds tried to pull a fast one by going insolvent during the last match of the 2006-2007 season as relegation looked certain. Their hope was that the fifteen point deduction would be implemented as they were relegated, therefore making no difference to the situation.
In the event, the FA, for once, saw sense, and imposed the penalty for the season now reaching its conclusion.

Yes Leeds did probably go into admin to receive the 10pts when they were virtually down last season. The 15pts deduction was implemented for this season as Leeds not being able to get out of admin with a CVA. Most Leeds fans are happy with the outcome as we know Bates is a shady character is trying to pull a fast one but it's no different to most chairman. Unfortunately we had a bad chairman in Risdale who lived life on credit and now we have a crook who everyone hates. But a football club belongs to its' fans so that's why we still are supporting Leeds. If you listen to a lot of media crap, they are the people saying a big club like Leeds should be in the Premiership, most Leeds fans just want to concentrate on the future, getting our club back on a steady course in whatever division that may be. People like Sky do want Leeds to be back in the premiership as there is a bigger global market for say Leeds compared with Wigan. But Sky is not interested in football for the average fan so this is where a lot of the rubbish comes from. For most Leeds fans, the situation is that we have accepted what's happened and by no means think we are too good for League 1. Hopefully we have 2 more games to prove we are .... but that is no means definite. For my penny's worth, this is a very strange comment from Adams. Concentrate on Seagulls.....

Having to put up with hords of ignorant yorkshiremen is a heavy price to pay for the clubs getting extra revenues. Ask Bournemouth.

Mr Bloom - It sounds like you might have originated from the same egg as kk ! No idea what egg chasing means but I probably know more about international football and futsal than you know about yourself !kk has a fixation about the albion going up and the lack of support...never mentions how Leeds could do the right thing and pay their creditors the money they stole from them ? C'mon kk how about something constructive ? I see you're already taking it for granted that Leeds are 2nd best to Carlisle !

Roy Ralph Ray or whatever, If you would like to talk about football then talk about football not all the politics that goes on behind the scenes that has nothing to do with what goes on on the football pitch! As for my attire it does not consist of sheepskin and Yak fleece something that you would be more probably accustomed to.

Why shouldn't Micky Adams wish a club he used to play for good luck. Unless people die very young they tend to acquire wider sympathies as they grow older, its healthy , makes for a more tolerant world dontcha know. I'm 100% Leeds, but was only born there because my parents moved for work and my mum's family came from Sussex, so I hope Brighton do well - except when they play Leeds.

If Wilkins said this, fans would be in uproar demanding his resignation from the club. Knight would be uproar and demand his sacking.
Stupid comments to make, Adams knows fans of teams dont like Leeds, so why say this.

The 15 point deduction meant that it was easy for the manager to create a sense of victimhood amongst the players, that would have been easy to galvanize them into playing far better than would otherwise have been the case. I actually believe that Leeds were let off extrememly lightly by the authorities and that justice will only be served if Carlisle prevail tonight. I also resent the comments here that insuate that Dick Knight would ever copy the lying, underhand tactics that Ken Bates seems to have no difficulty undertaking.

Horrible place and nasty hooligan fans don't deserve any success.
