From humble beginnings at the Penthouse, November Spawned a Mozzer proved so popular that it upped sticks from its second home, the Greenhouse Effect in Hove, for the relative grandeur of the Komedia.
Morrissey bunting, Smiths videos and shrine-like Mozzer decoration remained from the previous cult nights, but the Komedia being a performance space, a live Smiths tribute act started the party.
While renditions of William, It Was Really Nothing and Reel Around the Fountain truly stirred the crowd, many opined that the Smiths Indeed didn’t have that special something witnessed at The Smyths' gig a few weeks before.
But with extra space for arm flailing and flower waving, few were in the mood to complain as Smiths classics and Morrissey moments had all mouthing sincere and biting lyrics to their fellow Mozzer fans until the haven of their beds called.
