Profile: Mike Lord’s debut album has come from pretty inauspicious beginnings. A former bin man and classical music graduate from Colchester, he wrote and produced much of Good Morning Mother himself in his bedroom, while on the dole. The band Stars And Sons was formed from Mike’s friends, who helped put the album together.

They have played live shows supporting Hockey and Okkervil River as well as a set at this year’s Great Escape Festival.

The album features single Futureproof which is released on Monday. Good Morning Mother, which sees the light of day on Monday, September 27, was finished off with a session in a converted Welsh church under the auspices of Manic Street Preachers and Kylie Minogue producer Dave Eringa.
