Influences: Dance music, Low, Radiohead, Eels, early Cure and primitive New Wave.

Profile: Sparrow grew from best friends Ali Gavan and Marina Perryman who both front the band, and Cambridge-bred bassist Bryn Mabey and drummer Caz Adlington. The four-piece first got together in 2009, and developed their sound based on the idea that everything you hear on record should be how it was played live.

In their soundscape everything is minimalistic, raw and unprocessed, complete with unflinching and honest lyrics penned and sung by the boy and girl in charge. Debut album Playtime is being released as a 12-track download and 11-track physical CD in March by Brighton-based label Numbskull HQ.
