Influences: Explosions In The Sky, Oceansize, Pixies, Radiohead, Spiritualized, Placebo, Smashing Pumpkins, depression, failure, anguish, long films - preferably threequels and dinners with other people's pets.

Profile: The original Republic Of Heaven was formed by former Thousand Yard Stare guitarist Giles Duffy, guitarist and vocalist Mark Sandeman and drummer Toby Hammond. Bassist Rich Denyer-Bewick met Mark at a party and had a long conversation about music which made him: "want to marry him and play in his band". His proposal was turned down but fortunately a year later, once the awkwardness had dissipated, he was able to join the band and played his first gig November 2006. The band recorded their debut EP Blackout in the same year and are currently working on a follow-up.
