The Argus: Crooked Mountain Crooked Sea

Crooked Mountain, Crooked Sea

From: Brighton

Influences: Cursive, Fugazi, At The Drive-In, Red House Painters, Modest Mouse, Cap'n Jazz.

Profile: Post-hardcore four-piece Crooked Mountain, Crooked Sea release their new EP I Watched It From The Roadside today on August 16. The four-piece got together last year, but have already caught the ear of BBC6 Music's Tom Robinson with their take on the post-rock genre.

It's not hard to see why with this excellent track from their February EP It's The Falling That Counts, Not The Landing, which mixes melodic and shouty vocals with complex rhythms and driving guitars. This year has also seen them tour the UK with Hold Your Horse Is, and former Meet Me In St Louis frontman Tobias Hayes's new acoustic project Shoes And Socks Off. They are currently on the road with Amateurs, taking in shows in London, Leeds and Bristol, to launch the new six-track EP.
