Profile: With a line-up of between 30 to 50 people, mixing percussion with a full horn section, vocalists, guitar, bass and electronics, Carnival Collective are a band that once seen are rarely forgotten.

The band stole the first night at last year’s Beachdown and have also appeared at Glastonbury, Larmer Tree and Festinho festivals. They have captured their live sound on their debut album recorded at Brighton’s Concorde 2 club last November. The album Freak Rocket is available from Rounder Records in Brighton Square, Resident in Kensington Gardens and Rarekind in Trafalgar Street, as well as at their gigs.
