No one should ever under-estimate what it takes to please children.

Klinika Lalek, the Polish puppeteers behind this show, take no chances.

Their performance at The Warren, tailored for the venue, does well to keep things interesting and stop youngsters getting restless.

Initially set in the confines of The Warren's tented Main House, where miniature wild creatures and a giant butterfly captivate, the 60-minute show migrates to the courtyard area, where the bigger animals await.

The giant elephant, giraffe and lion, billed as "life-size" but not quite, are fascinating and qualify as works of art on their own.

Beyond the obvious logistics of mastering 20ft mobile rigs indoors, physically making the audience walk outside adds fluidity to the viewing experience and satiates most attention spans.

Besides, no right-thinking adult wants to be stuck in a tent with about 100 children for an hour.

Ideally suited to toddlers up to those aged about six, it'll keep adults entertained too; even the most stone-hearted guardian would enjoy this.

With a chance for kids to let off some steam at the end with a bit of a dance, and no obvious opportunity for a tantrum, this ticks all the boxes of a successful day out.
