MANY new jobs are being created in south Essex, thanks to the growth of the care industry.
Carewatch Southend is typical of the local operators now recruiting for care workers.
Carewatch is enjoying a period of rapid growth, boosted by its recent ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), Kate Lawrence, manager at Carewatch Southend, said: “Quality carers are key to our organisation’s services, but we need to recruit more if we are to meet the challenges of the UK’s ageing population.
“Caring offers excellent prospects for anybody who takes up this work for the first time. With life expectancy rising thanks to modern medicine and more people adopting healthy lifestyles, experts expect the fastest growing age group to be the over 65s.
“We’re looking for compassionate people to join our team of professionals, enabling our customers to retain their independence, dignity and security, in their own home. This is a demanding but fulfilling career. We want to hear from anyone who feels they have the right qualities.
“Anybody who has looked after somebody, maybe a family member, or has an interest in helping others, will have valuable experience, even if they have no formal qualifications. Carewatch provides full training and support to all new carers.”
