Hundreds of new jobs planned for Hastings area
Up to 520 jobs could be created by a new business centre.
Hastings and Bexhill Renaissance Ltd hopes to construct eight new buildings including offices and light manufacturing in St Leonards.
An application submitted to Hastings Borough Council shows a two storey building to the west of Queensway opposite the Castleham Industrial Estate and Napier Road.
The bid is being opposed by The Environment Agency, Natural England and the Sussex Wildlife Trust, which say it will damage features of a Site of Special Scientific Interest at Marline Valley Woods.
The application will be decided at a planning committee meeting on May 21.

Up to 520 new jobs could be created eh?...The key word here being "could"...We "could" also see the units (when finally completed) sitting idle and empty for years as the country slides ever deeper into recession.
Sadly under this Government I suspect the second outcome is more likely now than the first.
